We have started the path at the small parking area opposite Tavistock Golf Club. If this is full then there are plenty of places to park along the road. Thefts from cars are quite low as golfers are teeing off from this point plus there are many dog walkers parking at the same place all the time.
Starting from the Golf clube walk across the road towards the pimple, this is a small building on a mound, (old water reservoir). Go past the pimple and down the hill, the path is wide so you shouldnt miss this.
At the bottom there is a road, cross this and head towards the small hamlet of Middlemoor. As you go down the hill turn left on the road and follow it to the end where you will see a gate and a stoney path leading up hill. This path takes you through Holwell & Caseytown
At Casey Town take a left turn onto the road, Walk along this road for about 250m to the crossroads, as you near the crossroads go right onto the grass. Follow the tree line up to where the path forks, take the left hand path and walk through to the end bearing left, leading you out onto the road at the far end of the path.
Cross straight over and bear right walking alongside the road till you reach a car park. At the car park look towards the Tor above Pork Hill on your left, the Highest point, head towards that and you will pick up a path. Follow the path as its bears left and keeps Pork Hill to your right. The path leads onto an old stoney track and continue to follow this which will take you past the disused quarry on your left. About 3m past the quarry take the left path, a small path that heads uphill. Follow this to the end and it will bring you at onto the road by the by another clear area, sometimes used for parking.
Go straight across and onto the grass, look ahead and you will make out a path, head toward that and keep the gol course on your left. About 1/2 mile along start to take the paths that follow the boundary of the golf links. Follow the path and once a stone wall appears on your right head alongside the stone wall and up towards the road. Cross the road and you will now see the start point and Tavistock Golf Club.
It is recommended you take a map with you when following a walk route.
