The fast flowing river Tavy flows through the centre of town below the Western edge of Dartmoor, in the heart of an area of tremendous natural beauty.

Tavistock has a long history and is a vibrant and interesting town to live and visit, and has World Heritage status as part of the eastern Gateway to the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

Free roadside parking in Tavistock town centre is usually easy to find apart from Market days and Friday's, but there are plenty of spaces at the car parks situated around the town.

CAR PARKS:

Abbey Car Park:

1 hour parking = £1
2 hour parking = £1.80
3 hour parking = £2
4 hour parking = £3
all day £6
Season Tickets (as of February 2009)
12 months: £500
6 months: £300
3 months: £175
Blue Badge Parking 4 parking bays for Blue Badge Holders
