The weather man had said the week would be good and how true, temperatures at Goose Fair were around 19° with sun almost out all day. It certainly made a difference to the volume of people coming to Goose Fair, the main street of stalls was packed with visitors from early morning till late night, at one point it was so packed I almost came to standstill as other fair goers stood and browsed stalls. New rides and some fresh new stalls were great to see, the large main ride in the square had all the riders screaming, the ride seating 16 people in 4 rows, 4 seats to a row each row facing the opposite row, wildly swung to and fro, going up higher than the church steeple opposite! It was great to watch but I thought I’d leave that one out ;) Another new ride was the “walk on water”, kids could get inside a huge see through plastic looking ball which was then filled with air and zipped up. They were then pushed into the temporary pool, about 2 foot deep and the fun started! Now this I wanted to do… but my age and size wasn’t allowed. My nephew Carter found the stall with the guys throwing the tomatoes and eggs that when thrown at a surface splattered like real eggs and tomatoes… we bought one and yep, we had great fun throwing them against the walls. Because it was so sunny I and my family found a table outside at Jo’s bar where we sat in the sun and had a couple of drinks, as we watched the crowds pass by, we could see there really were thousands at the fair! I really enjoyed Goose Fair this year, lots to do, weather was fantastic, stalls had some better products… and the Guinness at Jo’s was really cold ;)
